Khambrel Marshall and Gilbert Garcia to Co-Chair Komen Houston Race for the Cure
KHAMBREL MARSHALL AND GILBERT GARCIA TO CO-CHAIR KOMEN HOUSTON RACE FOR THE CURE
Khambrel Marshall, a member of the KPRC2 Severe Weather Team and host of Houston Newsmakers, and Gilbert Garcia, Managing Partner at Garcia Hamilton & Associates, have been named Komen Houston Race for the Cure Co-Chairs.
Beyond being a familiar, trusted face and voice on KPRC, Khambrel Marshall has been instrumental in the Houston community, working with Susan G. Komen Houston, and countless other local organizations. Khambrel began his involvement with Komen Houston almost 10 years ago, starting as event emcee, then as a board member, and now, Race Co-chair. Khambrel has devoted his life to public service and giving back to Komen Houston is just one way he gives back to the City of Houston.
Gilbert has served as Chairman of the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Houston Downtown Management District, a member of the Board of Directors of the Yale Club of Houston and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Houston Municipal Employees Pension System. In addition, he is a Class X graduate of Leadership Houston. Gilbert Garcia’s mother is a breast cancer survivor, his sister lost her mother-in-law to breast cancer, and his cousin’s wife is battling now, so his connection to the disease is a personal one.
Gilbert and Khambrel are excited to spearhead the 2018 Race and create momentum and enthusiasm around this year’s Race for the Cure.
